1. Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi Temple (Mathura)

2. Dwarkadhish Temple (Mathura)

While completed around 1814, this temple is a must-see for any pilgrim or architecture buff. This temple is dedicated to Lord Krishna as King of Dwarka, in the ceremony of his regal form. The temple is bright and beautifully banded with colors, carvings of animals, and has annual festivals to enliven visitors.

3. Vishram Ghat (Mathura)

Situated on the banks of the Yamuna River, Vishram Ghat is where Krishna is said to have rested after delegitimizing demon king Kansa’s reign. 4. Banke Bihari Temple (Vrindavan)

Established by Srila Prabhupada, the founder of ISKCON, it attracts thousands of devotees daily who come to spend time at the temple seeking a sense of peace, participate in devotional chanting (kirtan) held by temple leaders, and otherwise be spiritually present at the temple.

7. Nidhivan (Vrindavan)

An intriguing and holy grove, Nidhivan is purported to be the place where Krishna still performs the divine Raslila with the Gopis every day. It is said that after dark, the area is off-limits to visitors because when it gets dark, Krishna and Radha appear for the purusha.

8. Govardhan Hill (Near Vrindavan)

Govardhan Hill brings to mind the time when Krishna lifted the hill on his little finger to protect the villagers from Indra, the rain god’s fury. Today, pilgrims enjoy the Govardhan parikrama, or sacred circumambulation around the hill, which covers about 21 kilometers.

9. Kusum Sarovar (Near Govardhan)

Kusum Sarovar is a serene lake located next to Govardhan Hill and surrounded by temples and charming sandstone pavilions. This is said to be a place where Radha and the Gopis would collect flowers for Krishna. This would be a wonderful and serene place to sit and meditate and enjoy the spiritual ambiance of this sacred area.
